Terms governing access to and use of The Whisky Index platform, marketplace, registry, valuation, advisory, and transfer-readiness services.
The Whisky Index provides information, workflow tools, registry infrastructure, marketplace presentation, valuation support, buyer and seller routing, document review workflows, and decision-support tools for whisky cask activity. We are not a substitute for legal, tax, regulatory, investment, or financial advice.
Nothing on the platform is investment advice, financial advice, legal advice, tax advice, regulatory advice, or a personal recommendation. Valuations, scores, listings, liquidity indicators, verification labels, and marketplace information are indicative only and do not guarantee sale price, buyer demand, legal title, transfer success, or future returns.
Users are responsible for checking information, obtaining independent advice where appropriate, understanding the risks of whisky cask ownership, ensuring they are authorised to submit information, and making their own commercial decisions.
Registry records, proof reviews, warehouse checks, document statuses, and verification outputs reflect the information available to the platform at the relevant time. They may be incomplete, outdated, disputed, or subject to further review. Verification does not remove all commercial, legal, tax, title, or transfer risk.
Marketplace listings and featured opportunities may be based on supplier, seller, warehouse, registry, or internal review information. Availability, pricing, documents, transfer readiness, warehouse cooperation, buyer suitability, and commercial terms must be confirmed before any transaction progresses.
Submitting an enquiry, buying brief, seller lead, valuation request, registry record, marketplace interest form, or reservation request does not create a binding transaction unless separate written terms are agreed by the relevant parties.
Users should not send funds or rely on any transaction until the relevant parties, terms, documents, ownership route, warehouse process, risk disclosures, and transfer requirements have been reviewed and agreed. The platform may refuse, pause, or withdraw workflows where risk indicators are present.
Users must not submit false, misleading, confidential, unlawful, unauthorised, infringing, or inaccurate information. We may review, remove, restrict, or amend records, listings, or submissions where quality, safety, legal, or platform integrity concerns arise.
The platform may rely on third-party services for hosting, analytics, authentication, CRM, email, payments, customer support, storage, monitoring, or data processing. Use of the platform may involve those services processing information as described in our privacy and cookie policies.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Whisky Index is not liable for losses arising from reliance on indicative valuations, market commentary, registry records, listings, liquidity signals, third-party information, user-submitted data, warehouse actions, supplier actions, buyer actions, seller actions, or failed transfers.
We may change, suspend, withdraw, or restrict parts of the platform, including routes, tools, listings, registry records, analytics, integrations, pricing methods, and workflows, where needed for operational, commercial, compliance, or security reasons.
These terms may be updated as the platform evolves. Continued use of the platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
