About The Whisky Index
Buying or selling a whisky cask should not feel like guesswork. Too often, people are shown a distillery name, a headline return story and a price, but not enough clear evidence to understand whether the opportunity is fair, transferable or realistic to exit later.
The Whisky Index exists to make that process more disciplined. We help people check cask offers, value casks, review documents, understand buyer demand and progress only when the basics have been properly looked at.
why we built this
Whisky casks can be valuable assets, but they are not simple products. The same distillery name can appear at very different prices depending on age, cask type, fill, litres, warehouse status, documents and seller motivation.
New buyers can struggle to know whether a price is sensible. Sellers can struggle to know whether they are being undervalued. Both sides need a clearer way to understand the facts before they move forward.

Good sellers should be able to present their casks properly, with the right documents and a sensible pricing position, rather than being lost in a noisy broker market.
